Paraga is the beach that locals and repeat visitors often name as their favourite on the south coast, and the reason is balance. It is two small coves separated by a rocky spine, with enough room for a barefoot, boho morning on one side and a stylish, music led afternoon on the other.
The famous name here is Scorpios, the club at the eastern headland that built its reputation on sunset sets, long tables and a loosely bohemian style that has been copied around the world. Above the western cove sits SantAnna, a huge pool club with a different, glossier energy. Between them you can still find stretches of ordinary sand and a couple of relaxed beach bars.
That mix is the appeal. You can arrive early, swim in clear calm water and have the place feel almost low key, then watch it shift through the afternoon as the daybeds fill and the music rises. It is the Mykonos party scene at a slightly more human scale than Paradise.
Who it suits: stylish younger travellers and couples who want a beach with atmosphere and a sunset to build the evening around, without committing to the loudest party sand on the island.
Who should skip it: families wanting calm shallow water and quiet should choose Platis Gialos, and anyone after a truly undeveloped cove should head to the quieter north and east at Agios Sostis or Fokos.

Paraga carries two of the island names worth knowing. Scorpios sits on the eastern headland and built its name on sunset music and a boho table scene, while SantAnna above the western cove is a large pool club with daybeds and a glossier mood. Both are seasonal and their opening dates and minimum spends vary, so confirm before you plan around them. The full picture sits in our Mykonos beach club directory.

Is Paraga Beach good for swimming?
Yes. Both coves are usually calm and the water is clear, with a gentle entry on the sand. There are rocky patches at the edges, so swim toward the middle of each cove and bring water shoes if you explore the margins.
