Fredrik Filipsson is a founder and editor of Beaches for Kings. He set up the publication to do one thing well, which is to be the most honest guide on the internet to each beach and the clubs on it, written for readers who want a real verdict rather than a rephrased spec sheet.
Fredrik has lived in some of the most beach rich corners of the world, among them Dubai, Florida, Thailand and Spain, and that first hand time on the sand, knowing which bay turns over by noon and which club is worth the daybed, is what he brings to the guides.
Outside Beaches for Kings, Fredrik is a founder and director of Redress Compliance, an independent advisory firm, where he has spent more than twenty years advising large organisations and learning how to read a contract, test a claim and refuse to take a vendor's word for it. That same discipline, sources checked and nothing taken on trust, is the standard he holds the beach guides to.
Role at Beaches for Kings
Fredrik is accountable for editorial independence. Beaches for Kings is not affiliated with any beach club, hotel or operator, and a paid relationship never changes a ranking or a verdict. He owns that policy and the firewall between the editorial and the commercial side of the site.
He oversees the research and review process, including the visible last reviewed date on every page, the rule that an unconfirmed detail is marked to be confirmed rather than guessed, and the practice of describing beach conditions as typical rather than guaranteed, with no swimming safety promises.
