Paradise is where the Mykonos party legend began, and it has leaned into that role ever since. The bay itself is a decent south facing crescent of golden sand with clear calm water, but almost no one comes here for a quiet swim. They come for the day party.
By early afternoon in high summer the beach is a wall of sound. Tropicana, the bar and daybed institution on the sand, drives the daytime scene, and after dark the action moves up to Paradise Club for the night. There is a campsite behind the beach, which sets the tone for the young, international, budget conscious crowd that fills it.
If that is your holiday, Paradise delivers it without apology. The energy is real, the crowd is up for it, and the day to night flow is the easiest on the island. The water is genuinely nice in the mornings before the music starts, which is the secret window for a calmer swim.
Who it suits: young travellers, stag and hen groups, and anyone who wants the loudest, most social beach day Mykonos can offer. Arrive ready to join in rather than to relax.
Who should skip it: families, couples after romance, and anyone craving calm. The quieter beaches are a short hop away, and Super Paradise next door gives you a similar scene in a prettier setting.
Beach clubs near Paradise Beach
Paradise is built around its party venues. Tropicana drives the daytime scene on the sand with music and daybeds, and Paradise Club takes the night above the beach. Both are seasonal and their schedules and any entry or minimum spend vary, so confirm before you plan your day or night around them. The wider island picture sits in our Mykonos beach club directory.
Paradise Beach, Mykonos
Paradise is on the south coast about ten to fifteen minutes from Mykonos town, with frequent buses in season, a car park and the taxi boats that loop the south beaches. The bus and boat are the easiest way in and out, especially on a party day when driving and parking are a hassle. The beach sits below a low headland with the campsite and clubs behind.
- Come in the morning if you want to swim before the day party takes over.
- Use the bus or taxi boat rather than driving on a party day.
- Pace yourself, as the scene runs from afternoon straight through the night.

Paradise Beach questions
Is Paradise Beach Mykonos a party beach?
Yes. Paradise is the original and most full on party beach on the island. The day scene runs at Tropicana on the sand and the night moves to Paradise Club above the beach. It is loud, young and social rather than quiet.
Can you swim at Paradise Beach?
Yes. The bay is south facing, clear and usually calm, and the water is genuinely good. The best swimming is in the morning before the music and the crowd take over the beach for the day.
Is Paradise or Super Paradise better?
Both are party beaches, but Super Paradise has the more dramatic setting and clearer water, while Paradise has the bigger, more backpacker driven day party. For scenery, choose Super Paradise, and for the classic Mykonos party, choose Paradise.
Is there camping at Paradise Beach?
Yes. There is a long established campsite behind the beach, which is part of why the crowd skews young and budget minded. It helps drive the social, party first atmosphere the beach is known for.
Should families go to Paradise Beach?
Not for a relaxed family day. The beach is loud and party focused for most of the day. Families are far better served at Platis Gialos or Ornos, where the water is calm and the mood is gentle.
