Marmaris is the value end of the Turkish Aegean, a big sheltered bay backed by pine hills where the beach is long, free and busy along the promenade, and the proper beach clubs sit a short hop west at Icmeler. This is not a coast of high minimum spends and velvet ropes. It is sunbeds on a calm bay, a pool and a jetty at the Icmeler clubs, and the option to pay nothing at all and lay a towel on the public sand. For sun, swimming and a relaxed budget, it delivers more than its reputation suggests.

Every venue below is a real, established place described by the day it delivers. The value is the genuine draw, but sunbed fees and any food minimum move with the season and are rarely posted online, so we keep them as to be confirmed and suggest you ask on arrival. The smartest cheaper move is to base around the free Marmaris bay and treat an Icmeler club as the occasional upgrade for cleaner water and a daybed.

When to go

When the clubs are best in Marmaris

The season runs from May to October, longer than much of the Mediterranean, with July and August the hottest and busiest, especially around the school holidays when families fill Icmeler. June and September are the value sweet spot, warm and bright with calmer bays, easy sunbeds and gentler prices, and the sea stays swimmable well into October. Marmaris is reached by Dalaman airport, about an hour and a half away, and a water taxi links the town bay with Icmeler through the day.

How to book

Getting a sunbed, the honest way

Booking matters only at the busy Icmeler clubs in peak summer. The front sunbeds fill on July and August weekends, so arriving early or reserving a daybed secures the best spot by the water, while June and September are easy to walk into. Always ask whether you are paying for a single lounger or a two bed set with a parasol, and remember the free Marmaris bay is right there if you would rather spend nothing on the sand.

Dress is barefoot and easy, swimwear with something light over it for lunch. Send your date and party size through the form below and we will pass it to the club to confirm availability and any sunbed fee for the day you want, at no cost to you.

Before you go

A few essentials

Most travellers reach Marmaris from Dalaman airport, a scenic drive of about ninety minutes over the hills. You rarely need a car in resort, as the town bay, Icmeler and the smaller coves are linked by cheap water taxis and dolmus minibuses through the day. Bring cash for sunbeds and beach bars, the sand is mixed with shingle in places so sliders help, and the bays are calm and clear, with Icmeler the cleaner water of the two.

Good questions

Before you go

Which is the best beach club in Marmaris?

The dedicated beach clubs sit at Icmeler, the calmer bay next door, where Palace Beach Club is the lively, family friendly pick with a pool and a sunbed jetty, and ICON Beach is the more styled choice for daybeds and a bar. In Marmaris itself the honest best beach is the long free public bay, where you pay only for a sunbed if you want one. Pick Icmeler for a curated club day and the Marmaris sand when you would rather not pay.

How much does a Marmaris beach club cost?

Marmaris is one of the better value coasts in the Aegean, and the long public bay is free to lie on with only a sunbed and parasol set to pay for. The Icmeler clubs charge for loungers rather than a minimum spend, with food and drinks on top. Exact figures move with the season and are rarely posted, so we mark them as to be confirmed and suggest you check on the day.

Where are the Marmaris beach clubs?

Most of the dedicated beach clubs are at Icmeler, a sheltered bay a short drive or water taxi west of Marmaris, where Palace Beach Club and ICON Beach line the sand and the Grand Yazici resort holds its own seafront. Marmaris town itself has the long public beach along the promenade, backed by hotels rather than clubs. The two bays are easy to combine in a stay.

Do you need to book a Marmaris beach club in advance?

In July and August the front sunbeds at the Icmeler clubs fill on weekends and through the school holidays, so arriving early or reserving a daybed is worth it. In June and September you can usually walk in and pay on the day. The free public sand at Marmaris is first come, so come early in peak weeks for a spot near the water.

Is Marmaris or Icmeler better for a beach day?

Icmeler has the cleaner, calmer water and the proper beach clubs, so it wins for a styled day on a daybed with a bar close by. Marmaris has the longer, livelier bay with a busy promenade, free sand and cheaper sunbeds, which suits a relaxed budget day. Many travellers stay in one and hop to the other by the regular water taxi.
