The honest read

Pevero is the Costa Smeralda beach for people staying near Porto Cervo who do not want to spend the morning driving. Just south of the resort, it is an easy hop to a classic bay of soft pale sand and that signature emerald green water, with the manicured Pevero golf country rolling behind it. There are in fact two beaches here, the larger Grande Pevero and the smaller Piccolo Pevero, and for most visitors the Grande is the one to aim for.

The water is the draw, clear and calm with a gentle entry that deepens slowly, ideal for an unhurried swim. A seasonal concession provides loungers and shade, so you can make a comfortable day of it, though as with its neighbours the operator and prices shift year to year and are best confirmed on arrival. The setting is polished rather than wild, in keeping with this corner of the coast.

On crowds, proximity to Porto Cervo cuts both ways. It is convenient, which means it draws the resort crowd, and high summer fills the sand and the anchorage offshore. June and September give the same emerald water with markedly more room, and as ever the early hours are the calm ones. The smaller Piccolo Pevero can be a quieter alternative when the main bay is busy.

Who should skip it: anyone after an untouched, facility free cove, since Pevero is convenient and polished rather than remote. Who should go: anyone based near Porto Cervo who wants beautiful water close at hand, and anyone who likes a comfortable, serviced beach day.

The club layer

Clubs on and near the sand

Pevero is served by a seasonal beach concession rather than a strip of clubs, and its appeal is convenience and clear water close to Porto Cervo. Confirm the operator and rates on the day, and use the Sardinia club directory to arrange a bookable day on the coast.

  • Grande Pevero concession
The in season lounger point behind the larger bay. Operator name, rates and booking terms to be confirmed.
Getting there and essentials

Pevero lies just south of Porto Cervo on the Costa Smeralda, a short drive from the resort and signposted off the local roads near the Pevero golf area.

A car or transfer is the easiest way in, with limited parking behind the beaches that fills in peak season. Because it is so close to Porto Cervo, it is one of the simpler Costa Smeralda beaches to reach for a half day, but the same early start advice applies for space and calm water.
