Agrari is the cove most people walk past on their way to Elia, which is exactly why you should stop. It sits just over the headland from its famous neighbour on the southeast coast, a small horseshoe of unusually soft sand backed by green hills, and it holds onto a calm that the bigger beaches lost years ago.
The water is the same sheltered southeast sea that makes this side of the island so swimmable, calm and clear with a gentle shallow entry. Because the cove is small and tucked away it tends to stay glassy on days when the meltemi wind is roughing up the north coast, and the crowd is a fraction of what you find a few minutes away.
Facilities are deliberately simple. There are organised sunbeds and a relaxed beach taverna for lunch and a cold drink, and that is about the extent of it. Part of the beach has a long standing reputation as a relaxed and inclusive stretch, and the overall mood is quiet, unhurried and free of any club scene.
Who it suits: couples after a calm romantic cove, swimmers who want soft sand and clear shallow water, and anyone who finds Elia too busy and wants the same coast without the crush.
Who should skip it: party seekers will find nothing happening and should head west to Paradise and Super Paradise, and large groups chasing daybeds and a soundtrack will be happier on the south coast clubs.
Beach clubs near Agrari Beach
Agrari is a quiet swimming cove rather than a club beach, and we will not dress it up as more. You will find sunbeds and a relaxed beach taverna, but the daybed and party scene sits back west at Paradise, Super Paradise and Paraga. Agrari Beach, Mykonos
Agrari lies just past Elia on the southeast coast, roughly 20 minutes by car from Mykonos town, with a small parking area behind the beach. You can also walk over the headland from Elia in a few minutes, or arrive by the southern taxi boat that loops along this coast, which is the prettiest way in.
- Walk over the headland from Elia if you want to find Agrari without driving.
- Arrive early in August, as the small cove fills its limited sunbeds quickly.
- Bring shade and water, as the beach has little natural cover.

Agrari Beach questions
Is Agrari Beach quiet?
Yes. Agrari is one of the calmer organised coves on the southeast coast, far thinner than neighbouring Elia despite sharing the same sheltered water. It suits couples and anyone who wants a quiet beach day.
Can you walk to Agrari from Elia?
You can. A short path over the headland at the end of Elia leads into the Agrari cove, a walk most day visitors never make, which is part of why Agrari stays so much quieter.
Is Agrari Beach good for swimming?
It is very good. The sheltered southeast bay is calm and clear with a soft gentle entry, which makes it comfortable for most swimmers and especially pleasant for a relaxed float.
Is there a beach club at Agrari?
There are organised sunbeds and a relaxed beach taverna rather than a party club. For daybeds and music the closer options are west at Paradise, Super Paradise and Paraga, all linked from our island guide.
How do you get to Agrari Beach?
Agrari is about 20 minutes by car from Mykonos town just past Elia, with a small car park behind the beach. You can also walk over from Elia or take the southern taxi boat along the coast.
