Lucice is the gentle one. A short coast walk south of Petrovac, over a low headland through the pines, it opens into a near perfect horseshoe cove where the water shelves in slow and shallow and sits calm behind its two rocky arms. It is the kind of sheltered bay that holds its composure on a day the open beaches are getting a chop, which makes it the easy family swim of the Petrovac stretch.
For an active day the cove is small but it earns its keep. The rocky arms either side reward a snorkel, the clear shallow water is ideal for first paddles and kayaking, and the campsite in the pines above means you can roll out of a tent and be in the sea in minutes. It is not a place to chase a wave or a wind, the shelter that makes it calm is the same shelter that keeps it flat, so for swell you would head south to the open bay at Buljarica.
The honest part is its size and its popularity. Lucice is genuinely small, and once the campsite fills and the day trippers arrive from Petrovac it packs tight through the middle of the day in July and August. The cove is loveliest at either end of the day, so the move is simple, arrive at opening for a lounger and the calmest, clearest water, or save it for June and September when the bay breathes again.
Lucice keeps things low key with a couple of seasonal bars on the cove, with the Petrovac town concessions a short walk north for more service.
The cove runs a couple of seasonal beach bars with sunbed hire and simple food and drink to the sand, easygoing and family minded rather than a party scene. Seasonal opening, rates and any minimum spend are to be confirmed.
A short walk north, the Petrovac town beach lays out paid sunbed and umbrella concessions along its promenade, with more bars and restaurants at your back when you want a livelier base. Rates are to be confirmed.
Lucice sits a short coast walk south of Petrovac, about ten to fifteen minutes over the headland through the pines from the seafront. Parking above the bay is limited and fills fast in summer, so the walk from Petrovac is often the easier approach. Conditions are typical and never guaranteed.
For the calmest, clearest water and a lounger, arrive at opening, before the campsite and the day trippers fill the cove. The rocky arms reward a mask, and if you want a wave or a breeze the open bay at Buljarica is a short drive on south.
Lucice runs from public sand to a few seasonal loungers, so tell us your date and party and we will line up a bed or a beach spot, from the quiet cove bars to the Petrovac concessions a short walk north. No charge to enquire.
Lucice is a small sheltered cove a short walk south of Petrovac on the Budva Riviera, tucked behind a low headland with pines and a campsite above it. It is about ten to fifteen minutes on foot from the Petrovac promenade.
Very. The horseshoe bay is sheltered and the water shelves in slow and shallow, calm on most days, which makes it one of the gentler swims on this coast for young children. Conditions are typical and never guaranteed, so still keep watch.
It is a mix of fine sand and small pebble, soft enough underfoot and easy to enter. The calm shallow water over the pale seabed reads clear and bright, which is part of the cove charm.
It is small, so it packs out fast in July and August, especially once the campsite above it fills. The cove is loveliest early and late in the day. Come at opening for a lounger and the calmest water, or visit in June or September for room.
Yes. A coast path runs south from the Petrovac seafront over the headland to Lucice in about ten to fifteen minutes, a pretty walk through the pines. There is limited parking above the bay that fills quickly in peak season.
