Becici is the easy one. Right next to Budva and stretching nearly two kilometres to the village of Rafailovici, it is that rare thing on this coast, a long beach of actual soft sand, and it has long held a Blue Flag for its clean water. Sheltered by the hills behind, the bay sits calm and almost flat on most days, which makes it the friendliest swim on the riviera and a small paradise for anyone with a paddleboard.
That calm, protected water is the reason to come for anything active and gentle. Stand up paddle and kayak hire line the sand, the flat morning sea is ideal for a long paddle along the bay, and the rockier Rafailovici end rewards a snorkel. Behind it runs a full resort strip, sunbeds, bars, restaurants and a promenade that you can stroll all the way to Budva one way or on to Rafailovici and Kamenovo the other.
The honest part is the scene. This is a developed resort beach, not a wild one, lined with hotels and dense with sunbeds in July and August, and the central stretch can feel like a deck chair city at peak. The fix is simple, walk to the ends. The Rafailovici side and the early hours give you the calm, clear, paddle friendly Becici that makes the bay worth it, before the loungers fill and the day heats up.
Becici runs from public sand to club loungers, with Dukley on the Zavala headland and Kamenovo Beach Club a short walk east the named venues to know.
On the Zavala peninsula at the Budva end of the bay, Dukley Beach Lounge is the glamorous all day club option, spread across several small beaches. Reserve a bed for weekends and high summer.
A short way east over the headland, Kamenovo Beach Club brings a livelier, younger scene with music and watersports on a pretty bay. Busy and central to the riviera nightlife.
Becici adjoins Budva and is reached in minutes by taxi, local bus or a walk along the seafront promenade from the old town. Parking behind the beach is busy in summer, so the promenade is often the easier approach. Conditions are typical and never guaranteed.
For the calmest, clearest water and a paddle along the bay, get on the sand early, and walk toward the Rafailovici end if the central strip is full. The flat morning sea is the moment to take a board out before the day warms and the beach fills.
Becici runs from public sand to club loungers, so tell us your date and party and we will line up a lounger or a beach club, from Dukley on the Zavala headland to Kamenovo just east. No charge to enquire.
Yes. Becici is one of the rare long sandy beaches on the Montenegro coast, a nearly two kilometre sweep of soft sand and fine gravel with a gentle slope into the water. That, plus its calm sheltered water and Blue Flag, is why it is such a popular family beach.
Very. The bay is sheltered by the hills behind and sits calm and almost flat on most mornings, which is close to ideal for stand up paddle and kayak. Hire is available along the sand, and the early hours are the best window before the afternoon breeze.
There is free public access along the beach, but large stretches are given over to paid sunbed and umbrella concessions and beach clubs, especially in front of the hotels. Those rates and any minimum spend vary by operator and are to be confirmed.
Becici sits right beside Budva and is an easy trip by taxi, local bus, or a pleasant walk along the seafront promenade that links the two. The same promenade carries on the other way to Rafailovici and Kamenovo, so the whole stretch is walkable.
In July and August the central strip is a busy resort beach, dense with sunbeds and lined with hotels. It rarely feels unpleasant, but for space head to the Rafailovici end or come early in the day, when the bay is at its calmest and clearest.
