The Es Bruc name has stood on the Menorca shore since 1950, which on an island that guards its coast this jealously makes it something close to an institution. The group keeps two beachfront houses, one here at Sant Tomas and a second at Santandria near Ciutadella, and this one sits at the western end of Sant Adeodato, where the road into the resort simply stops at the sea. It is a chiringuito in the truest sense, a beach restaurant that grew out of a beach.
Reading it honestly, and the way we frame the whole Menorca club directory, this is not a beach club at all. Menorca barely does daybed clubs, and Es Bruc is proof it does not need to. What it offers instead is a table a few steps from the water and a grill working through the middle of the day.

What a lunch here is actually like
The grill is the whole point, and everything worth eating here passes over it. The fresh fish of the day is the order, laid on the coals and usually priced by weight, so ask what came in and what it costs before you commit. Around it sit the plates that keep surfacing in diner accounts, the rock mussels from Mahon, the rice pans and paella regulars rate as the reason to come, the strong Mahon cheese salads and the house fried platters. Nothing here tries to be clever, and the kitchen is better for it.
The room changes with the clock, which is worth planning around. At midday the terrace belongs to the beach, families and swimmers wandering up sandy footed for a long lunch with the sea a few metres away, and no bookings, so a peak August table is won by turning up early. By evening the pace slows, the light drops over the south coast water, and the terrace becomes a sunset table you can actually reserve.
Where it falls short is honest and small. With no lunch bookings you can wait when the beach is full, and the sea facing tables go first. Prices sit above a village taverna, the cost of a monopoly on that stretch of sand, and a few reviews note the kitchen can slip when it is slammed in high summer. This is the south coast too, so a blowy afternoon throws sand and swell across the beach in a way the sheltered north never does.

Sant Tomas sits about twenty five minutes by road from Mao and a similar hop from Ciutadella, down through Es Migjorn Gran until the road runs out at the beach. The restaurant advertises free parking at that end, a real convenience here, and a summer bus links the resort to the towns. Booking splits in two.
