At the southern tip of Kos
Kefalos Beach lies below the village of Kefalos at the southwestern tip of Kos, roughly forty five minutes to an hour by road from Kos town and about the same from the airport, which sits between the two. Buses and taxis serve the village, and there is parking near the bay that fills in high summer, so come earlier in the day for both space and the calmer morning water.
Bring reef safe sunscreen, water and a light layer for the afternoon breeze, and hire a sunbed or bring your own shade as natural cover is limited. Treat the open water and any wind driven chop with care and swim near the patrolled zone where lifeguard cover sits. For a change of scene, the neighbouring beaches of Paradise and Agios Stefanos are close by, the latter looking across to the same Kastri islet.
