It is a proper family beach, with sunbeds, watersports, tavernas and toilets all along the back of the sand, and water so shallow that children can paddle a long way out on a calm day. If you want everything laid on and an easy swim, this is the island's crowd pleaser.
The honest read is that its popularity is both the draw and the catch. In July and August the bay fills, the sunbeds pack in, and the car park and tavernas get busy, so this is a lively scene rather than a quiet escape. The afternoon meltemi wind can also whip across this coast and add chop and blown sand, so the calmest, most family friendly conditions are usually in the morning. There are no guaranteed lifeguards, so watch children and treat the calm as typical rather than promised.

Paradise Beach sits on the southwest coast of Kos near Kefalos, about forty minutes by car from Kos town and close to the island airport. A hire car, taxi or the island bus all reach it, and there is a car park behind the sand that fills early on summer days, so arriving in the morning helps for both a space and the calmest water before the wind picks up.
