How Dalmatia really serves the sand

Dalmatia has more of a beach club culture than much of the Croatian coast, concentrated where the glamour is, around Hvar town, Dubrovnik and the busier resort beaches. At its best it means a genuine day club on its own islet or cove, with loungers, a pool, food, music and boat transfers, the kind of polished day you would find in the western Mediterranean.

Below that top tier sit the everyday options, the beach bars and lounge concessions that take over part of a popular pebble beach, renting sunbeds and umbrellas and serving drinks to your spot. They are simpler and more affordable than the island clubs, and on a beach like Banje at Dubrovnik they come with one of the best views on the whole coast.
