Krorez
Best for. Adventurers who want a big wild bay with rock formations and clear deep water, and who are happy to earn it by boat or a rough road.
Best spot. The long open run of sand early in the day, before the boat trips land, with the rock formations at one end for a snorkel and a swim.
Know this. There is almost nothing here. A few summer bars, no loungers to speak of, no easy parking. Bring water, shade and everything you need.
Krorez is the wild card of the Saranda coast, a big open bay to the north of the town that you cannot just drive up to and park beside. You reach it by boat, roughly twenty minutes on the water from Saranda, or by a steep unpaved road that wants a four wheel drive and some nerve. That effort is the whole reason it has stayed wild while the beaches around Ksamil filled with loungers, and it is the most genuinely undeveloped sand within easy reach of the south.
The adventure read is simple, which is that this is the reward beach. Get yourself out here in your own kayak or a small boat early in the day and you land on a long open run of sand with rock formations at one end to snorkel and a deep blue bay to swim in, with barely a soul about. The catch is the timing, because Krorez is a popular stop for the day boat trips out of Saranda, and from late morning they arrive in a steady stream. Go early, swim and snorkel while it is quiet, and you get the wild version. Roll up at noon and you share it.
Be completely honest with yourself before you come, though. There is almost nothing here, just a few seasonal bars thrown up for the boat crowd, no proper loungers, no shade to speak of and no easy parking. Bring water, bring shade, bring everything. If Pulebardha felt too small and too busy, Krorez is the answer, but you have to earn it. Earn it and it pays out in space and quiet that the famous beaches simply cannot offer anymore.
What you will find here
Krorez has no clubs and no loungers in the usual sense, just a few bars that pop up in summer for the boat trips. The wildness is the whole point. For the styled club scene, the bigger beaches and the directory are back toward town.

A few simple bars appear in season to feed and water the boat trips, with cold drinks and basic food on a wild stretch of sand. No loungers in the usual sense and no styled club. Anything beyond a drink to be confirmed.
North of Saranda
Krorez sits on the coast north of Saranda toward Lukove, with no easy paved access to the sand. Most people arrive by boat, around twenty minutes from Saranda port and a regular stop on the day trips, while the brave take a steep unpaved road that suits a four wheel drive.
However you come, treat it as an expedition rather than a casual beach day. Get out early to land the bay while it is quiet, carry water, shade and food, and plan to be self sufficient. The reward for the effort is the wildest big bay within reach of the south.

How do you get to Krorez beach?
Two ways. Most people come by boat, around twenty minutes from Saranda and a regular stop on the day trips. The alternative is a steep unpaved road that wants a four wheel drive. There is no easy paved access, which is exactly why it has stayed wild.
Are there facilities or clubs at Krorez?
Almost none. A few simple bars pop up in summer for the boat crowd, but there are no proper loungers, little shade and no real parking. Bring water, shade and everything you need, and treat it as an expedition rather than a casual beach day.
Is Krorez crowded?
Early in the day it can be near empty, which is the version to aim for. From late morning the day boat trips out of Saranda arrive in a steady stream, so it is far from deserted at midday. Go at dawn for space and quiet.
When is the best time to visit Krorez?
June and September for warm clean water, and always early in the day before the boats land. The bay is open to the afternoon wind, so the calm morning is the window for swimming and snorkeling the rock formations at one end.
