Keykubat is the long beach that runs east from the castle headland, a Blue Flag sweep of sand and fine shingle that carries on for kilometres past the harbour and out along the eastern shore. Where Cleopatra is the famous, crowded star of the centre, Keykubat is the everyday workhorse, and that is its quiet virtue. The sheer length means it soaks up summer crowds in a way the central sand never can, so even in season you can walk a few minutes and find open shore.
The pace here is more local and residential. Apartment blocks and modest hotels back the promenade, the cafes are less polished and less pricey, and the people on the sand are as likely to live in Alanya as visit it. The headland and castle stand at the western end of the view, which makes for a fine backdrop and a lovely place to linger at sunset, when the rock catches the last light and the long beach empties out. The naturalist's pleasure is the room to walk, the water clean and the day unhurried.
Be honest about the surface. Stretches of Keykubat are true sand, but others shade into fine shingle and coarser sand, so it pays to scout a section that suits you and to pack water shoes. It suits families, slow swimmers and anyone who values space and calm over a buzzing scene. Who might be disappointed is the visitor expecting the soft, postcard sand of Cleopatra end to end. For that pure fine sand, walk the western half of Cleopatra, while for a forest backed shallow bay the western beach at Incekum is the gentler pick.
Keykubat is a long public beach of cafes and seasonal sunbed hire rather than a single gated club. For a full club day with daybeds, see our Alanya beach clubs directory.
The long front behind Keykubat is lined with relaxed cafes, snack bars and seasonal sunbed hire serving the residential strip, rather than a headline beach club. Operators, opening hours and any charges vary by section and season and are to be confirmed. The appeal is space and an easy, local pace.
Keykubat is an open public beach without a single flagship club fencing off the shore. Its draw is the length, the calm water and the room to breathe near the centre. For cabanas and structured table service, look to the wider Alanya scene through our directory.
Keykubat Beach begins just east of the castle headland and the harbour and runs along the eastern shore of Alanya, served all the way by the coast road. The city is about two hours by road from Antalya airport and roughly forty five minutes from Gazipasa Alanya airport, and dolmus minibuses run frequently along the front, so you can hop off at the section you like.
Parking is easier here than at the central beaches, with side streets off the promenade, though it still fills in peak summer. Bring water, sun cream, water shoes for the shingle patches and cash for the cafes and sunbed hire, and walk east for the quietest sand and the best view back to the castle.

For space and calm, often yes. Keykubat is the long Blue Flag beach east of the headland that runs for kilometres and absorbs crowds far better than the busy central Cleopatra. The sand turns to fine shingle in places, so Cleopatra has the softer underfoot feel, but for a relaxed, roomier day with the headland in view, Keykubat is the smarter call in high season.
It is a mix. Much of Keykubat is sand, with stretches of fine shingle and coarser sand along its length, so the exact feel underfoot changes as you walk. Water shoes are handy if you pick a shingle section. The water is typically clean and calm in the warm months.
Yes, for its calm clean water, its length and its relaxed, residential pace away from the central crush. Sunbeds, cafes and showers line much of the front. The shingle patches can be awkward for small feet, so choose a sandy stretch and bring water shoes, and watch children near the water. Conditions are typical and never guaranteed.
Yes, it is a free public Blue Flag beach, with sunbeds and parasols hired in season along the developed sections at rates that vary by operator and are to be confirmed. Its length means there is usually open public sand to spread a towel even when the centre is busy.
May, June, September and October are ideal, with warm sea, kind sun and the quietest sand. Because Keykubat is long it stays comfortable even in summer, but the shoulder months are loveliest, and the sea holds its warmth into October for late swims with the headland glowing at sunset.
