Shardana sits on Liscia Ruja, the long ribbon of soft pale sand that a lot of people quietly rate the finest beach on the Costa Smeralda. Where its neighbours trade on refinement, this club trades on movement: jet skis idling at the waterline, a bar that keeps pouring, a kitchen that fires grilled plates out to the beds, and a crowd that treats the place as somewhere to sink a whole day rather than a two hour lunch. It ran a full 2025 summer and posts steadily through the season, though it publishes no formal opening calendar, so the exact 2026 dates are worth a check before you drive out.

Our position, the same one we hold on the Sardinia club directory, is that Liscia Ruja is really three beach clubs sharing one stretch of sand, and Shardana is the sociable, hands in the water one. Come early and Shardana is simply a comfortable front row on a beautiful beach, an espresso at the bed and the water flat and clear in front of you. The tempo climbs with the sun. By early afternoon the jet skis are working the bay, the speakers have moved from easy house into brighter Latino, and the beds fill with groups who came to make a day of it. This is the animated corner of Liscia Ruja, closer to a lively lido than a quiet retreat, and it rewards being taken in that spirit.

The food is where accounts split, and it is worth being straight about it. At its best, guests praise the fresh fish, the catch of the day grilled plainly and carried to the lounger, exactly the sort of unfussy seafood a Sardinian beach should do well. At its most ordinary, others describe a snack counter and beach prices, a panini and a drink that cost more than they hoped. Both are true depending on what you order. Treat it as a proper beach kitchen for grilled fish and a plate of pasta rather than a destination restaurant and it delivers; arrive expecting the refinement of the dining rooms next door and it will not.

Where it falls short is where you would guess. The sunbed rate is steep for what is, at heart, a beach with a bar and a grill, and the reported figures put a front set near what a whole day elsewhere on Sardinia would cost. The very things that make Shardana fun by day, the jet skis and the music, are what make it the wrong choice if you were dreaming of silence. For that, the calm of White Beach Club a little along the same sand is the better call.

Liscia Ruja is a long, gently curving beach of soft pale sand and water that shades from clear turquoise to deep blue, reached by an unpaved track off the road between Porto Cervo and Cala di Volpe. Beyond the club footprints the sand stays generous, the open public shore sits right up against the club rows, and the water is usually calm and shallow enough for an easy float. Liscia Ruja sits between Porto Cervo and the Cala di Volpe headland, and the final approach is a dust track rather than tarmac, so a hire car is the sensible way in and the car park fills early on peak days. There is no public transport worth relying on out here, which keeps the beach quieter than its fame suggests.
