Ladiko Beach
Best for. Couples and families who want the clear water of this headland with calmer, easier swimming and a little more room than the cove next door.
Best spot. The main horseshoe cove, where a strip of sand and pebble meets calm clear water that is gentler underfoot than the rocks nearby.
Know this. It is small and popular, sunbeds fill in peak season, and the surface is sand mixed with pebble rather than pure soft sand.
Ladiko is the quieter twin of its famous neighbour. Sitting just around the headland from Anthony Quinn Bay, it shares the same clear water and pine topped rock but trades some of the drama for a gentler, more usable shore. The main cove is a tidy horseshoe of sand and pebble where the water stays calm and clear, sheltered from the wind on most days, and there is enough room to settle in for a few hours rather than perching on a rock. For visitors who love the look of this coast but want easier swimming, Ladiko is often the smarter choice.
The bay comes in two parts, a larger horseshoe and a smaller adjoining cove, linked by a short rocky path. The surface is a mix of coarse sand and pebble, kinder on the feet than the rock ledges next door, and the calm clear water makes for relaxed swimming and a little snorkeling around the edges. A taverna sits above the cove for a long lunch with a view, and sunbeds line the sand in season. It is the kind of place where you arrive for a swim and find you have stayed all afternoon.
The honest read is that Ladiko is small, and word is well and truly out. In July and August the sunbeds fill, the modest car park strains, and the cove can feel cosy by midday, especially when day trippers spill over from Anthony Quinn Bay. It still tends to feel calmer and more comfortable than its neighbour, but it is not a hidden find. Come early or in the shoulder season for the best of it, bring something for your feet given the pebble, and pair it with the snorkel cove next door for a fine half day on this stretch of coast.
A taverna, not a club
Ladiko is a small sheltered cove with sunbeds and a taverna rather than a beach club. For daybed lounges, music and full club service, the larger beaches around Faliraki and Rhodes town are the place to look. Use the Rhodes beach clubs guide and keep Ladiko for the calm swim and a long lunch.
Sunbeds and a cove taverna
Sunbed hire on the sand and a taverna above the cove. There is no branded beach club here, and operator details are to be confirmed locally.
East coast, near Faliraki
Ladiko sits on the headland just south of Faliraki, next to Anthony Quinn Bay, around twenty five minutes by car from Rhodes town. The Ladiko turning leaves the main coast road and winds down to a small car park above the cove, with a short path leading to the sand and pebble shore.
Parking is limited and fills in summer, so an early start helps. East coast buses stop near the Ladiko and Faliraki turnings on the main road, leaving a walk down to the bay. Many people visit Ladiko and Anthony Quinn Bay together on the same trip, as they share the same headland.

Common questions about Ladiko
Is Ladiko beach better than Anthony Quinn Bay?
It depends what you want. Ladiko has calmer swimming, a kinder sand and pebble shore and a little more room, which suits families and longer stays. Anthony Quinn Bay next door has more dramatic clear water and better snorkeling over rock. Many visitors enjoy both on the same trip.
Is Ladiko beach sandy?
Partly. The shore is a mix of coarse sand and pebble, easier underfoot than the rocky cove next door but not soft powder sand. Water shoes make swimming and walking in more comfortable, especially for children and anyone with sensitive feet.
Are there facilities at Ladiko beach?
Yes, within reason. There is sunbed and umbrella hire on the sand and a taverna above the cove for drinks and lunch. Facilities are modest and seasonal, so bring water and anything you need, and treat opening times as to be confirmed.
Is Ladiko beach good for swimming?
Yes. The horseshoe cove is sheltered, the water is clear and usually calm, and it deepens more gently than the rocks at Anthony Quinn Bay. There is no lifeguard, so supervise children and judge the conditions for yourself before going in.
How do you get to Ladiko beach?
Ladiko is on the headland just south of Faliraki, beside Anthony Quinn Bay, about twenty five minutes by car from Rhodes town. A turning leads down to a small car park above the cove. Buses stop near the Faliraki and Ladiko turnings, leaving a short walk down.
