Every island has one address where the volume lives, and on Paros it has been Punda for as long as anyone can remember. The venue on this east coast sand has worn a few names over the years, Punda Beach Club to most of the world, Viva Punda for a spell, and today Punda Coast, the relaunch that put a large pool, cabanas and a restobar at the centre of the operation. Same sand, same job: the liveliest afternoon on the island.

We keep it at number two on our Paros club directory, behind Monastiri, and the gap is a matter of what you came for rather than execution. Monastiri owns the calm and the setting. Punda owns everything else: resident DJs and themed days under the Cycladic sun, a crowd that arrives to socialise, and the closest thing to a Mykonos afternoon that Paros permits itself, delivered with a straight face and a cocktail list.

The honest read

Where Paros goes to be seen

The relaunch as Punda Coast softened the old all out party machine into something broader. The pool is now the centrepiece, a proper one, ringed by sunbeds and cabanas, with the restobar running food that takes dietary requests seriously and a wedding and events side that would have been unthinkable in the venue’s rowdier decades. The DJs still play every afternoon in season, but the register is chill house rising through the day rather than a wall of sound from noon.

For two, timing decides everything. A weekday cabana in June or September is a genuinely pleasant shared day, close enough to the music to feel the buzz, far enough to hold a conversation, and the 24 hour refund window means booking it costs you nothing in flexibility. In late July and August the club fills with groups and the pool deck becomes a scene, wonderful if that is the date you wanted, exhausting if it is not. One more honesty for the sunset romantics: this coast faces east, so the sun slips behind the hills, not into the sea.

The gaps are the usual ones for a club this size. Nothing about beds, cabanas or minimum orders is priced publicly, so the booking step is unavoidable, and the club’s own pages disagree about the closing hour, listing both 19:00 and 21:00. Quiet seekers have no business here at all, and the club would be the first to say so; the island keeps Monastiri for them.

The sand it sits on

Punda beach, east coast, not the kite spot

Logaras, the next cove along

First, the name trap: Punda beach on this east coast has nothing to do with Pounda on the west side, where the kitesurfers cross to Antiparos. This bay sits between Logaras and Golden Beach, golden sand with a gently shallow entry, and it stays usefully swimmable on meltemi days when the north wind is wrecking the exposed coasts. Step past the last speaker and the shore mellows fast, and the sand of Logaras is a short walk north when you want the same water without the bassline.

Getting there and booking

The practical part

Count on roughly 25 minutes by car from Parikia and 20 from Naoussa, with parking steps from the entrance that fills late morning on event days. Summer buses run from both towns to the Piso Livadi and Logaras stops, leaving a short walk or a quick taxi, which matters because the smart way to do a Punda afternoon involves someone else driving home.

Booking runs through the club’s online reservation page, with a phone and WhatsApp line for questions, and the cancellation terms are unusually kind: cancel up to 24 hours ahead and the refund is full. Since no prices are published, the enquiry is where you learn the day’s cost. Name the date and the size of your party in the form below and we put the enquiry to the club directly, confirming availability, cabana rates and that week’s programme, at no cost to you.

Good questions

Before you go

Is Punda Beach Club in Paros still open?

Yes, though it now trades as Punda Coast. The venue on Punda beach that generations of visitors knew as Punda Beach Club, and for a stretch as Viva Punda, runs today under the Punda Coast name with the pool, sunbeds, cabanas, restobar and daytime DJ events at the same east coast address.

Do you need a reservation at Punda Coast?

The club recommends booking ahead for sunbeds, private cabanas and popular event days, and takes reservations online, by phone or over WhatsApp. Walk ins are welcome when space allows, which in July and August is a gamble worth avoiding.

How much does a sunbed at Punda Coast cost?

The club publishes no tariff for its sunbeds or cabanas, so every rate is to be confirmed when you book. Cancellation is friendlier than most: bookings cancelled up to 24 hours ahead are refunded in full, with later changes handled case by case.

Is Punda Beach Club the same as Pounda near Antiparos?

No, and the mix up catches people every summer. This club sits on Punda beach on the east coast of Paros, between Logaras and Golden Beach near Piso Livadi. Pounda on the west coast is the windsurf and kitesurf spot facing Antiparos, on the opposite side of the island.

Is Punda Coast good for couples?

For a social afternoon, yes: share a cabana by the pool on a June or September weekday and the place is more mellow than its party reputation suggests. For quiet romance, no. This is the liveliest club on Paros, the coast faces east so the sun sets behind the island, and couples after hush will be happier at Monastiri in the Paros Park bay.

What are the opening hours at Punda Coast?

The club opens daily at 10:00 through the summer season. Its own site lists closing as both 19:00 and 21:00 in different places, and billed events can run later still, so treat the closing hour as to be confirmed and check the calendar for the date you have in mind.
