Kapari is the cove you go to when even Agios Ioannis next door feels too busy. It is a tiny, unorganised pocket of sand and pebble on the southwest coast, tucked below the road near its more famous neighbour, and it stays quiet precisely because it offers none of the comforts that draw a crowd.
What it does offer is water. The little bay is sheltered and the sea is exceptionally clear, calm enough on a still day for an easy float and a lazy swim with the rocks of the cove framing the view. Like the beaches around it, Kapari looks west toward Delos, so the sunset here is just as good but shared with far fewer people.
The catch, and it is the whole point, is that Kapari is wild. There are no sunbeds, no bar and very little natural shade, so you bring your own umbrella, water and everything else you need for the day. That small effort is the filter that keeps it peaceful while the organised beaches fill up.
Who it suits: couples and solo travellers after a quiet swim and a calm sunset, and anyone who prefers a natural cove to an organised beach and is happy to be self sufficient for a few hours.
Who should skip it: families wanting facilities and easy access should choose Ornos or Platis Gialos, and anyone who wants a sunbed, a cocktail and service should stay next door at Agios Ioannis.
