Purobeach Illetas

Five shades of white stacked down a cliff, and the bay does the rest.

The verdict

  • Book ifYou want the composed version of an Illetas day: a Balinese bed on a terrace above clear water from 11:00, sushi and grilled fish instead of a sandwich on the sand, and a soundtrack kept below the conversation
  • Skip ifYou came for sand under your feet or a cheap lounger, because the club stands on rock terraces, publishes no prices, and the little coves a few minutes away cost nothing at all
  • One thing to knowThe dress code is White Island Chic and the crowd honours it, and on Friday and Saturday the terraces run to 01:30, long after the coves below have gone quiet

Puro waited twelve years to give its original a sibling, and when the second club arrived in May 2017 it inverted the formula. The first Purobeach is horizontal, a flat deck on a low rock near the airport. Illetas is vertical: a stack of white terraces stepped down pale stone above the clearest water on the Calvia side of the bay, with a panoramic pool cut into one level, Balinese beds facing open sea on another, and a restaurant floating over the whole composition. The palette has not moved a millimetre in two decades, white on white with raw wood and dusty green, but here the section drawing does the talking, and the section is superb.

It ranks second in our Mallorca club directory, behind only the original. This profile reads it the way an architect would: what the terracing achieves, what the tight crop of the brand photography leaves outside the frame, and what is actually confirmed about cost in 2026.

The honest read

What the terracing gives, and what the crop hides

The intelligence of this building is in its cross section. Because each terrace steps back from the one beneath it, every level borrows the roof below as its forecourt and every bed reads as front row; there is no second class seat in the section, only different heights above the same green glass water. The materials hold the brand’s old discipline, matt white render, unstained timber, rope and planting, so nothing competes with the horizontal line of the sea. And in the last hours of the afternoon, when the light comes in low across the bay, those white planes double it, which is exactly why the local advice is to arrive late: the golden hour here is as engineered as it is natural.

Now step back one frame, because the camera never does. The club sits on a short suburban promenade in ses Illetes, one of the most built up little corners of the Calvia coast, with apartment blocks on the slope above and the old Balneario, a beach bar of an entirely different generation, holding the rocks nearby. The coves that make the postcard are small, and in August they are packed by mid morning. Parking on the narrow strip is a genuine trial. None of this is a scandal, every Illetas visitor negotiates the same geography, but the brand imagery of one empty bed above an empty sea is a crop, not a lie exactly, and you should arrive expecting company.

What the money buys is curation. The kitchen runs a Mediterranean line into sushi and Latin plates without embarrassing itself, the cocktails are built rather than poured, and the resident DJ understands that a terrace at 17:00 needs a pulse, not a peak. Wellness is stitched into the programme, treatments and yoga rather than an afterthought spa cabin. Whether that curation is worth an unpublished premium over a 20 euro lounger on the sand below is the real Illetas question, and it depends entirely on whether you regard a beautiful room as part of the swim. Couples celebrating something will say yes; our Mallorca for couples guide exists for them.

The terraces at work

The water the club overlooks is the best argument for the whole neighbourhood: three pocket coves of pale sand and sheltered rock, calm enough for a slow morning swim on a typical summer day and green in a way the open bay never manages. Our Illetas beach guide covers each cove and how early you need to arrive. A sensible day pairs the two economies, the free towel on the sand until lunch, then the club from mid afternoon when the light starts performing. If you want this water without any scene at all, the calm water beaches of Mallorca page lists the quieter alternatives.

Getting there and booking

Ten minutes from Palma, longer to park

The address is Passeig Illetes 58B in ses Illetes, a short run southwest of Palma, and a taxi is the honest recommendation: the strip is narrow, the spaces are few, and the independent guides all repeat the same warning about allowing extra time if you drive. Once there, everything is vertical and on foot, so pack light and wear shoes that can manage stairs.

Booking runs through the club by phone or its own site, with beds and tables allocated by position and date. Because no tariff is published, the only real price is the one quoted for your day. Tell us the date and the size of your party below and we will return with the live bed options, an honest total and whether a restaurant table is the smarter play for that evening, free and with no obligation attached.

Good questions

Before you go

How much does a day at Purobeach Illetas cost?

The club publishes no rate card. Balinese beds, daybeds and tables are priced with the date and the position when you book, so every figure stays to be confirmed. Budget for a premium venue: this is the polished end of the Illetas coast, not the towel on the sand end.

Do you need to reserve at Purobeach Illetas?

In season, yes. Independent Mallorca listings advise booking a bed or a table in advance for the summer months, and the best positions on the lower terraces are the first to go. Shoulder season weekdays are far easier.

What is the dress code at Purobeach Illetas?

The house calls it White Island Chic, which in practice means light, put together beachwear. You will not be measured at the gate, but the crowd dresses to match the architecture, and arriving in the same spirit is part of the day.

Is there a beach at Purobeach Illetas?

Not under the club itself. The venue occupies rock terraces above the water with direct sea access for swimmers, and the small sandy coves of Illetas sit within a short walk. Sand is nearby, just not beneath your daybed.

When is Purobeach Illetas open in 2026?

The working season runs from around May to October. The current Google listing shows 11:00 to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 11:00 to 01:30 on Friday and Saturday, though hours shift through the year, so confirm before planning a specific evening.

How do you get to Purobeach Illetas?

The address is Passeig Illetes 58B in ses Illetes, a short taxi ride southwest of Palma. Driving is easy but parking on the narrow Illetas strip is not, so allow extra time or let a taxi solve it. The phone is +34 971 70 32 35.
