Dash Beach Club is the pool deck, bar and kitchen of a playful beachfront resort on Pantai Tengah, the stretch of Langkawi’s southwest corner where the quiet sand starts running up toward the Cenang strip. What makes it worth a page of its own is that the resort opens the club to outside visitors on a day pass, and on this island that is genuinely rare. Langkawi’s beach scene is beanbags, fairy lights and barefoot bars on free public sand, and Dash is the one address that does the full infinity pool, daybed and swim up bar routine properly.

Our honest position, the same one we hold across the Langkawi club directory, is that this is a beach bar island where the sunset costs nothing and the drinks are duty free cheap. Dash earns its fee by being the exception: a curated pool day with a soundtrack, on a coast where nobody else is really trying.

Plan around the rhythm, because Dash runs two different days in one. Before mid afternoon it is a lazy resort pool with unusually good views: the infinity edge lines up with the Andaman horizon, the swim up bar pours without you leaving the water, and the loungers hold a mix of hotel guests and day pass visitors who mostly read and float. Around 4pm the DJ arrives and the deck changes gear. The music is reported to run to midnight in the week and 1am on weekends, and the crowd swaps paperbacks for cocktails as the light goes gold. By 11pm on a Saturday this is as close to a club night as Langkawi gets outside Cenang’s bars, which is either the whole point or your cue to leave.

The food is resort food with real intent behind it. The kitchen runs a long menu of pizzas, pastas, grills and Asian plates with a cocktail list to match, and in recent seasons the resort has pushed all day set menus at RM65 to RM83 that read as fair value for the setting. The grumble in visitor reviews is portion against price at the a la carte end, a salad with salmon at RM50 came up more than once, and it is a fair warning: you are paying resort rates a few minutes from hawker prices. The saving grace is the bar, because duty free Langkawi keeps even a polished cocktail list gentler than its equivalent in Bali or Phuket.

Where Dash falls short is exactly where its name promises otherwise: the beach. The club’s stage is the pool, and the strip of public sand in front is pleasant but incidental, with the loungers and the energy all facing the water from above rather than sitting in it. If your idea of a Langkawi evening is toes in the sand while the sky performs, the beanbag bars up the shore do it free and do it better. Come here for the pool, the bar and the soundtrack, not for the sand itself.

Pantai Tengah is the calmer half of Langkawi’s main resort shoreline, separated from the busier Cenang strip by a small rocky headland. The sand is white, the water typically gentle, and the crowd thins noticeably the further south you walk, with massage huts and quiet resort frontages where Cenang has bars and jet skis. The club sits on Jalan Teluk Baru at the Tengah end of the resort strip, about twenty minutes by road from Langkawi’s airport, and a Grab or taxi from anywhere on the Cenang side is short and cheap.
