Paradisos Beach
Best for. Travellers who want an organised beach within a stroll of Neos Marmaras, with a sunbed, a taverna and the sunset all to hand.
Best spot. The sandier northern end, away from the busiest tavernas, taken early before the town comes down to the water.
Know this. The luxury here is convenience, not privacy. The seabed is stony at the entry, so carry water shoes, and for true quiet the coves at Kavourotrypes reward the short drive.
Paradisos is the beach that comes with the town attached, and that is exactly its appeal. It runs along the west side of Neos Marmaras, the busiest little resort on Sithonia, a stretch of better than a kilometre where the sand is at its softest in the north and turns to a finer pebble as you walk south. Behind it sits a polite run of tavernas and cafes, several of which line up the sunset as their main course, and that easy access to a cold drink, a proper lunch and a sunbed is the quiet luxury here. You are never more than a few steps from anything you might want.
The water reads well. It is clear and shelves gently, shallow enough for a long way out to suit a paddle, and on a still morning it has the glassy calm that makes Sithonia famous. The honest detail to carry with you is the seabed, which is stone and shingle at the entry in places before it gives way to sand, so a pair of water shoes turns a slightly awkward first few steps into a non event. A breeze can also put a little chop on the surface by the afternoon, which is no drama but worth knowing if you came for mirror water.
Where Paradisos asks for honesty is on the word in its name. This is a convenient, well run town beach, not a secluded paradise, and in the peak weeks it is busy and built up, with the sunbeds packed and the front lively into the evening. That is a fair trade if service and a sunset matter more to you than solitude. If what you actually want is the quiet turquoise that Sithonia trades on, take the short drive to the sculpted coves at Kavourotrypes early, or settle into the shallow calm of Karydi at Vourvourou, and keep Paradisos for the evening when the tavernas earn their keep.
Clubs on this beach
Paradisos runs on beach bars and tavernas rather than a polished members club, with hired beds and a sunset table the real draw. For a reserved daybed elsewhere on the coast, see the Halkidiki guide. Operators and hours move with the season, so confirm before you set out.

Neos Marmaras, Sithonia
Paradisos lies on the west side of Neos Marmaras on the middle peninsula of Sithonia, signed along the front and an easy walk from most of the town centre. A car reaches it directly, with roadside and informal parking along the shore.
Timing rewards you here. Come early for the calmest water, the pick of the sand and the easiest parking, then let the town fill in around you and stay for the sunset from a taverna table, which is when Paradisos is at its best.

Common questions about Paradisos
Is Paradisos beach in Halkidiki good for families?
It works well for a family who want service close to the sand. The water shelves gently and stays shallow for a good way out, there are sunbeds and tavernas a few steps back, and the town of Neos Marmaras is right there for anything you forget. The one caution is the seabed, which is stony at the entry in places, so pack water shoes for small feet.
Is Paradisos beach sand or pebble?
It is a mix. The northern stretch is the sandier part and the southern end carries more pebble, and the seabed underfoot is stone and shingle near the entry before it turns to sand a little deeper. Most people are comfortable in water shoes, which keep the first few steps painless and let you enjoy the clear water without thinking about it.
Does Paradisos beach have sunbeds and tavernas?
Yes. Paradisos is an organised town beach with hired sunbeds and umbrellas along much of its length and a run of tavernas and cafes behind the sand, several with a fine view of the sunset. There are also free stretches if you would rather lay a towel. Operators, hours and prices move with the season, so treat them as to be confirmed.
Is Paradisos beach worth it or is it overrated?
It earns its place as the easy, polished beach of Neos Marmaras, with everything within a stroll and a genuinely lovely sunset, and that convenience is the real value rather than any sense of seclusion. If you came to Sithonia for quiet turquoise coves it will feel busy and built up, so pair it with a morning at Kavourotrypes or the calm shallows of Karydi.
Where can I park at Paradisos beach?
There is roadside and informal parking along the front and around Neos Marmaras, which fills through the middle of the day in high summer. The simplest approach is to arrive early or walk in from the town, which is close enough to reach on foot from most of the central accommodation.
