Erbaju Beach
Best for. Walkers and solitude seekers happy to trade every comfort for space and silence.
Best spot. Anywhere along the open middle, where you can sit well away from the few other visitors.
Know this. There are no services of any kind, so you carry in everything you need and carry it all back out.
Erbaju is the long wild sister of Roccapina, reached by walking over the headland from the famous cove or by a track that asks the same questions of your car. Where Roccapina is a compact, photogenic pocket, Erbaju is a broad open strand that seems to run on and on, backed by dunes and low maquis with not a building in sight. It is the kind of beach that has become rare in the Mediterranean, and the effort to reach it is precisely what keeps it that way.
This is a beach for people who measure a good day by how few others they see. There is space to walk for a long time, to find a patch of sand entirely your own, and to swim in clear water with nothing but dunes behind you. The beach is known to draw naturists at its far reaches, a reflection of how private and undeveloped it feels rather than any official status.
Set your expectations honestly. Erbaju gives you wildness and solitude and nothing else. There is no shade, no water, no kiosk and no lifeguard, and the open aspect means the sea can turn lively when the wind gets up. Come prepared and self reliant and it is one of the most peaceful beaches in the south. Come expecting comfort and you will be disappointed.
Clubs on this beach
Erbaju has no club, no kiosk and no service of any kind, and that total absence is the whole point. Nobody rents a lounger here and nobody pours a drink. If you want organised beach clubs with daybeds in the south, the Corsica directory lists the places that provide them.
No services on the beach
Erbaju is fully wild. Bring everything you need and expect nothing on site.
Southern coast, Corsica
Erbaju lies just south of Roccapina, off the N196 between Sartene and Bonifacio. The most common approach is to park at Roccapina and walk over the low headland, a stroll of a few minutes, or to follow a rough track that demands clearance and patience.
There is no public transport and no parking on the sand itself, so plan around the walk. Wear proper footwear, allow time, and remember that everything you bring must come back out with you.

Common questions about Erbaju
How do you get to Erbaju Beach?
Most visitors park at Roccapina and walk over the headland to reach Erbaju in a few minutes. There is also a rough track, but the walk from Roccapina is the simplest and most reliable route.
Are there any facilities at Erbaju?
None at all. There is no water, no food, no toilets, no shade and no lifeguard. Erbaju is a fully wild beach, so you must bring everything and take your litter home.
Is Erbaju a naturist beach?
The far end is known to attract naturists, which reflects how private and undeveloped the strand is. It is not an official designation, and the beach is large enough for everyone to find space.
Is Erbaju safe for swimming?
The water is clear but the beach is open to swell with no lifeguard. On calm days swimming is pleasant, while windy days bring waves, so judge conditions carefully and never swim alone in surf.
Is Erbaju worth visiting?
If you value solitude and a genuinely wild beach, yes. If you want shade, services and easy access, you will be happier at a developed beach. Erbaju trades every comfort for space and quiet.
