The judgment, then, is about which guest you are. If you want the island’s most beautiful beach with a drinks list, a jet ski base and a pulse after dark, Linda Beach is the only address on this sand offering all three, and a June or September visit buys it at its calmest and best. If your idea of Palombaggia is silence and a long seafood lunch, book the quieter paillotes north of here and keep this one for a cocktail at golden hour, when the crowd thins and the islands do the entertaining.

Palombaggia itself asks nothing of your wallet. The sand is fine and white, the shallows stay waist deep long enough for children to own them, and the umbrella pines behind the beach throw real shade in the afternoon. Linda Beach occupies the southern section of Palombaggia at the locality of Capu d’Acciaghju, about 20 minutes by road from Porto Vecchio around the headland. There is parking listed at the venue along with showers, toilets, wifi, card payment and access for guests with reduced mobility, which is a fuller service list than most paillotes on this coast publish. In July and August arrive before 10 or after 4, because the Palombaggia road queues in the middle of the day and the car parks fill.
