Boracay runs on two monsoons, and for a beach trip that is the whole story. The dry Amihan season, driven by the northeast wind from around November to May, is when the famous west facing White Beach is at its calm, clear best, with steady sun and gentle water. The wet Habagat season, driven by the southwest wind from around June to October, brings the rain, can push seaweed onto White Beach and overlaps the Philippine typhoon season, which makes the main beach far less reliable.
The honest sweet spots for most visitors are the quieter edges of the dry season. Late November and early December give you calm water before the Christmas and New Year crowds arrive, and February sits in the clear gap after the holidays and before the Holy Week rush around March or April. This guide breaks the year down month by month for air, sea, rain, crowds and an honest verdict, then picks out the months that really matter. Conditions are typical for the season and never guaranteed, so always read the sea on the day.

The months that matter
November and early December are the quiet reward. The Amihan wind has settled the sea, White Beach is back to its calm, clear best, and the big holiday crowds have not yet arrived, which makes this one of the loveliest windows for a relaxed family day. The same wind is filling in over on Bulabog for the kitesurfers, so the island is busy with the right kind of energy without White Beach feeling crowded.
January to April is the prime, and the busiest, dry season. The water is warm, calm and clear and the sun is reliable, but the crowds peak in waves, around Christmas and New Year, then again over Holy Week in March or April. February threads the needle, sitting in the clear gap after the holidays and before Easter, with calm water and more comfortable numbers. Book ahead for any of the peak dates, since the island fills and prices climb.
June marks the turn as the Habagat sets in. Rain becomes more frequent, the southwest wind picks up, and prices fall with the crowds. Through July to September the west facing White Beach can pick up wind chop and washed up seaweed, which is cleared along the busy stations but is the honest reason this side is less reliable in high summer. Mornings often stay usable with showers building later, so a wet season trip rewards flexibility and an early start.
October is the transition back, often improving toward month end as the rain eases, though the typhoon risk lingers through the wider June to November Philippine storm season, so check forecasts close to your dates. If you travel in the wet months, build in slack, keep plans loose, and treat a perfect beach day as a bonus rather than a guarantee.
Where to book a daybed
If you are timing a beach club day, the same calendar applies. The beachfront bars and resort lounges along White Beach are at their liveliest and most reliable through the dry Amihan season from November to May, and some of the buzz quietens in the wet months, so confirm a venue is open and check the conditions outside the dry season.
For a bookable day in the right window, tell us the beach, the date and the party size and we will match you to a beachfront or resort lounge and pass your request to the team.

What is the best month to visit Boracay?
Late November and early December, and February before the Holy Week crowds, are the sweet spots. You get the calm, clear White Beach water of the dry Amihan season with smaller crowds than the Christmas and Easter peaks. The wider dry season runs from around November to May.
When is the rainy season in Boracay?
The wet Habagat season runs from around June to October, driven by the southwest monsoon. Rain is more frequent, prices drop, and White Beach on the west coast can pick up wind and washed up seaweed, especially from July to September. Mornings often stay usable, with showers building later in the day.
Does White Beach get seaweed?
Yes, mainly in the wet Habagat months when the southwest wind pushes algae and seagrass onto the west facing White Beach, most noticeably from July to September. It is a natural seasonal thing, cleared regularly along the busy stations, and far less of an issue in the dry Amihan season.
When is typhoon season in Boracay?
The Philippines typhoon season runs from around June to November, overlapping the wet months. Boracay sits in the central Visayas and can be affected, so check forecasts close to your dates in those months. The dry Amihan season from December to May carries a much lower risk.
When is the best time for kitesurfing in Boracay?
The Amihan wind season, roughly November to April, is the kitesurfing and windsurfing window on Bulabog Beach on the east coast, the same steady wind that keeps White Beach on the west coast calm. Peak wind is often around January and February.
