It tops the list because nothing else pairs four kilometres of soft golden sand with this little development, and it gives you the open beach that El Nido famous island lagoons cannot. The catch is the access, a rough forty five minute van or tricycle ride north of El Nido town on a road that turns rough in the rains, so set out early and agree the return. A few simple bars sell drinks and grilled fish. Come for the long walk and the swim rather than a polished resort strip.
