Road Bay, by car
Sandy Ground sits on Road Bay on the leeward west coast, roughly ten to fifteen minutes by car from the airport and the Blowing Point ferry. A hire car or taxi brings you down into the village, where there is easy parking by the bars and the harbour and you simply walk onto the sand. It is one of the most reachable beaches on the island and the natural place to base an evening, with the boats to the cays leaving from the same bay.
You can come light here, since food, drink and shade are all close at hand among the bars, though water and sun cover are still wise.
