Faliraki has a loud reputation, and Ammades is the proof that the reputation only covers half the coast. Book the gazebo online the night before, swim out to the dock while the morning water is glassy, and let lunch arrive without anyone reaching for a wristwatch. It is the least performative romantic day on Rhodes, which is precisely its charm.

Now the honest limits. The shore is sand and pebble rather than powder, so water shoes spare tender feet at the entry. Service ends at 19:00 sharp, and because this coast faces east the sun rises over the water here and sets behind the island, so anyone scripting a sunset dinner on the sand is on the wrong shore. And Ammades runs no DJ programme or party calendar, which is either the whole point or a dealbreaker, depending on which evening you are planning.

Ammoudes is the gentle prologue to the long Faliraki sweep, a Blue Flag stretch where the east coast shelter keeps the water flat on most summer days and the entry shelves gradually enough for easy swimming. The club sits at Ammoudes on the Faliraki coast, an easy drive of around 20 minutes south from Rhodes Town with parking close to the beach, and the frequent Faliraki bus line puts carless visitors within a short walk of the sand. Coming from Lindos, count on about 40 minutes north along the coast road.
