Lageri
Best for. Travellers who want space, quiet and a natural beach over service and a scene, and do not mind a dirt track and bringing their own water and shade.
Best spot. The wide central sand for room to spread out, with the dune backed stretches and the quiet southern end for the most privacy.
Know this. There is no taverna, sunbed or shade here, so come self sufficient with water and an umbrella, and note that parts are popular with naturists.
Lageri is the beach you earn. It lies between Naoussa and Santa Maria on the north coast, reached by a bumpy dirt track through a small reserve, and the reward at the end is a wide, undeveloped sweep of golden sand backed by low dunes and a scatter of cedar trees. The water is clear and clean with a gentle sandy entry, and because nothing has been built here the place keeps a quiet, natural feel that the organised beaches nearby have traded away. For sheer space and calm it is one of the loveliest stretches on the island.
The honest read is that the lack of facilities is the whole point, and also the catch. There is no taverna, no sunbed and no shade, so you must arrive self sufficient with water, food and an umbrella, and the dirt access keeps casual visitors away by design. Parts of Lageri are long established with naturists, which is worth knowing before you bring children, and on a hard Meltemi day the exposed dunes can blow. This is a beach for people who actively want nothing built on it, and it will frustrate anyone hoping for service.
Come to Lageri for an unhurried, natural day with room to disappear, ideally in June or September when the water is warm and the access keeps the crowds thin. Spread out on the wide central sand, or walk to the quieter southern end and the dune backed stretches for real privacy. For organised comfort nearby there is Santa Maria, for the island's famous coves Kolymbithres and Monastiri sit around the bay, but for undeveloped space this is the pick. The smart play is to park at the track end, walk in over the sand, and bring everything you need.
No club, by design
Lageri has no club, taverna or sunbed at all, and that undeveloped quiet is exactly its appeal. For a club day, the Paros beach clubs guide has the island picture.

Lageri is a free, undeveloped beach with no club, taverna, sunbed or shade, kept natural by its dirt access and protected dunes. The day is built around space, quiet and a clear swim rather than service. For an organised day nearby, Santa Maria is a short hop, and for a refined club setting Monastiri and Faragas are the island picks. There is nothing to book here, so come self sufficient and treat the emptiness as the luxury it is.
Between Naoussa and Santa Maria
Lageri sits on the north coast between Naoussa village and Santa Maria, around four kilometres from Naoussa. Drive from Naoussa toward Santa Maria and turn off partway onto a signed dirt track that leads through a small reserve to the sand. The summer bus to Santa Maria can drop you nearby if you ask the driver, leaving a short walk in.
The dirt road is bumpy and there is informal parking near the end, so many people park there and wander down the sandy path rather than push a low car further. Bring everything you need for the day, water, food and shade, carry out what you carry in to keep the reserve clean, and allow a little extra time for the rough final stretch.

Common questions about Lageri
How do you get to Lageri beach Paros?
Drive from Naoussa toward Santa Maria and turn off partway onto a signed dirt track that runs through a small reserve to the beach, about four kilometres from Naoussa. The track is bumpy, so many park near the end and walk in. The summer Santa Maria bus can drop you nearby if you ask the driver.
Does Lageri beach have facilities?
No. Lageri is undeveloped, with no taverna, sunbeds, umbrellas or showers, which is the heart of its appeal. You need to bring water, food and your own shade, and carry out your rubbish. The nearest services are at organised Santa Maria a short distance away, or back in Naoussa village.
Is Lageri a nudist beach?
Parts of Lageri have long been popular with naturists, particularly the quieter dune backed stretches, so it is worth knowing before you plan a family day. The beach is large and open enough that visitors generally find their own space, but the naturist association is well established here.
Is Lageri beach good for families?
It can be for older, confident swimmers who enjoy a wild, natural beach, as the water is clear with a gentle sandy entry. The caveats are real though, with no facilities, no shade and no lifeguard, plus naturist use in places, so families wanting easy services are usually better at Santa Maria or Marcello.
When is the best time to visit Lageri?
June and September give warm clear water and real peace, with the rough access keeping crowds thin even in a busy season. July and August are hottest and a little busier but still quiet by island standards. Mornings are calmest, and a strong Meltemi can blow the open dunes, so check the forecast. Conditions are typical rather than guaranteed.
