Ses Salines is where fashionable Ibiza spends the day. The beach is a long band of soft golden sand on the southern tip of the island, set inside the protected Ses Salines natural park, and the combination of clear water over posidonia meadows and limited development gives it a natural beauty that the built up strips cannot match. The water here is genuinely special, intensely clear and a feature of the park rather than a happy accident.
The beach bars set the social geography. Toward the entrance, Malibu draws a glossy crowd with a boat delivery service and the occasional famous face, the Jockey Club in the middle keeps things cosmopolitan and modern, and out at the far end Sa Trinxa is the long running bohemian chiringuito beloved by a relaxed, hippie leaning and often nudist friendly crowd that stays late. These are beach bars with atmosphere rather than nightclubs, but the scene is real and the people watching is half the point.
The protected setting is both the charm and the catch. Because it sits inside a natural park, building is restricted, the dunes and pines stay intact, and the whole place feels wild compared with Bossa. The flip side is access. The road in and the car park come under heavy pressure from late morning, so arriving early is the difference between an easy day and a frustrating one, and the bus is a smart alternative in peak season.
Who it suits: travellers who want the island most stylish beach day, clear protected water and a choice between a glossy end and a bohemian end.
Who should skip it: anyone who wants quiet seclusion or hates a parking scramble should choose a west coast cala, as Salines is busy and very much seen.

Ses Salines Beach, Ibiza
Ses Salines lies at the southern tip of the island inside the salt park, roughly 20 minutes by car from Ibiza Town through Sant Jordi and the salt pans. Parking is in lots behind the dunes and fills early in summer, so a morning arrival or the seasonal bus is wise. From the car park a short walk through the pines brings you to the sand.
- Arrive early or take the bus, as the park car park fills from late morning in season.
- Choose your end before you walk in, with Sa Trinxa relaxed and Malibu glossier.
- Bring or book shade, since natural cover beyond the bars and pines is limited.

Is parking difficult at Ses Salines?
It can be. The beach sits inside a natural park with limited parking that fills from late morning in summer. Arriving early or taking the seasonal bus from Ibiza Town saves a frustrating search for a space.
Is Ses Salines a nudist beach?
There is no single answer, as the far end near Sa Trinxa is relaxed and nudist friendly while the rest of the beach is mixed. The protected park setting and bohemian tradition at that end shape the easygoing mood.
Is the water clear at Ses Salines?
Yes, the water is among the clearest on the island, owing to the protected posidonia meadows of the natural park. That clarity comes with some seagrass as part of the ecosystem, which is a sign of healthy clean water.
