When each month earns its place
January to March. The heart of the dry season and the most reliable beach weather of the year, with warm sunny days, low rainfall and calm warm water on the sheltered southwest coast around Grand Anse. This is peak season, so the beaches, resorts and prices are at their highest, and the festive carryover keeps January busy. Book well ahead if these are your weeks.
April. One of the best months to visit. The dry season is still firmly in place with sunny days and gentle seas, while the peak crowds of the winter holidays have started to thin and prices ease a little. A strong all round window for swimming, sailing and the beaches before the first wet season showers arrive.
May. The value sweet spot. The weather is mostly still dry and the sea is warm, but the high season crowds and prices have dropped away, so you get excellent beach conditions with more room and a softer bill. The odd shower starts to appear late in the month, but it rarely spoils a beach day.
August. Carnival month. Grenada's Spicemas builds through the summer and peaks in the first two weeks of August with soca music, street parades and Jab Jab, and it is one of the great Caribbean carnivals. The weather is warm and humid with showers, and accommodation fills and rises around the festival, so book early if the party is the plan.
September to October. The wettest and quietest months, with the lowest prices of the year and lush green landscapes, but also the peak of the Atlantic storm season.
