Lucca Beach

On a peninsula that solved its shortage of beaches with carpentry, Lucca Beach is a small act of defiance. The Bodrum norm is the jetty club, sunbeds bolted to timber over deep water, but here at Demirbuku, on the Cennet Koyu road out of Golturkbuku, the floor of the composition is sand. Loungers and cabanas sit in loose ranks with actual space between them, parasols repeat down the shore, and the whole arrangement reads like a set that was dressed by someone who knew the sea would be the backdrop in every photograph.

That visual confidence is the house style. The furniture is placed for sightlines rather than density, the bar treats its signature drinks as part of the decor, and by late afternoon a DJ gives the scene its soundtrack. Judged purely as design, the club understands restraint. Sand is the scarce material on this coast, and Lucca Beach spends it generously, keeping the positions spaced instead of cramming the front row, so the eye travels from parasol to parasol without snagging on clutter. The cabanas anchor the composition, the bar sits where the light lands late in the day, and the food comes out of a masonry wood oven that produces proper pizzas rather than reheated ones. The kitchen’s range is wider than the setting suggests: local fish taquitos are the clever order, the burgers are there for the unconverted, and the bar builds its identity on a short list of signatures, the Lucca Classic, a cooler made with Bodrum mandarins and a margarita that swaps the usual sweetness for Turkish figs.

What the pictures skip is the schedule. The imagery this place generates, and it generates a great deal, is mostly shot in the flat calm of morning, all empty loungers and undisturbed blue. Arrive at four on a July afternoon and you meet the other Lucca: the DJ working, the bay filling with charter traffic, service running at pace. Neither version is false, but they are different products, and you should book for the one you actually want. Quiet swimmers should come early in the day or late in the season; the crowd that comes for the scene should not expect the shore to themselves.

The honest caveat is opacity. Nothing about the cost of a Lucca day is published, not the bed, not the cabana, not any minimum, and independent 2026 reporting on the peninsula treats that as normal for this tier while advising visitors to reserve the moment travel is fixed. Demirbuku is one of the small green coves strung along the sheltered north shore between Golkoy and Turkbuku, where the water stays glassy because the peninsula itself blocks the wind. The club sits on Cennet Koyu Caddesi, the shore road that threads the coves east of Golturkbuku, about half an hour by car from Bodrum town depending on summer traffic. Arriving by sea is entirely in character: the bay features in yacht itinerary guides for the peninsula and charter boats treat it as a standard lunch stop, though mooring arrangements for your own boat should be agreed with the club in advance. However you arrive, the reservation comes first, because the sand is finite and the club sells position as much as space.
