Treasure Cay Beach is the long white crescent on the northeast shore of Great Abaco that has turned up for years on lists of the world's best beaches, and on a calm clear day it is easy to see why. The sand is fine and powder pale, the curve runs for miles, and the turquoise water shelves so gently that you can wade out a long way before it reaches your waist. As a pure stretch of sand and sea, it is hard to fault.
The honest caveat is on land, not in the water. Hurricane Dorian tore through the Abacos in 2019 and Treasure Cay, with its resort and marina village, took a heavy blow. Recovery has been slow and uneven, so while the beach itself is as beautiful as ever, you should not assume the full sweep of restaurants, shops and resort services will be running. Check what is open before you build a day around it.
None of that touches the beach experience itself. The water is calm and clear, the swimming is among the easiest in the Abacos, and the sheer length of the crescent means you can always walk away from anyone else and find your own empty stretch. It rewards a slow day of swimming, strolling and not much else, with your own shade and supplies carried in.
Come to Treasure Cay for one of the most beautiful and gentle beaches in the Bahamas, and come prepared rather than expecting a polished resort strip. If you want a livelier serviced day near Nassau instead, Cable Beach is fully resort backed, while for a quiet shallow sandbar in the same island chain, Tahiti Beach on Elbow Cay is a short hop away. Treasure Cay is a long public beach whose resort village is still recovering, and we never invent venues, prices or status. For the clubs and day passes we have verified across the Bahamas, use the Bahamas beach clubs directory.
Treasure Cay Beach is a public crescent on Great Abaco, so the sand is open to everyone along the shore. Loungers and shade where present belong to nearby homes and operators, so ask before you settle in.
We never invent venues, so for arranged loungers, food and drink we point you to the verified options in our directory rather than naming a club that is not here.
Treasure Cay Beach lies on the northeast shore of Great Abaco, reached by road from Marsh Harbour and the regional airport, or by boat into the Treasure Cay marina. Access to the sand runs through the settlement and resort area, and the crescent is long enough that you can spread out well away from any crowd.
Bring water, shade and food, since on shore services have been limited since Hurricane Dorian and cannot be relied on. The swimming is calm and gentle, but there is no reliable lifeguard, so take normal care and keep an eye on children as always.

Send your details and we will help arrange a beach club or daybed booking around the Abacos and the wider Bahamas within reach of Treasure Cay. We confirm current minimum spend and availability with the venue before you commit. Nothing is charged here.
It has appeared on many such lists, and as a stretch of sand and sea it earns it. The crescent is long, the sand is powder white and the calm turquoise water shelves gently for easy swimming. The caveat is on land, where services are still recovering from Hurricane Dorian.
The beach is open and as beautiful as ever, but the resort and marina village were badly damaged in 2019 and recovery has been slow and uneven. Shops, restaurants and resort services can be limited, so check what is running before you plan a full day there.
Yes. The water is calm, clear and shallow, shelving gently from the sand, which makes it among the easiest and gentlest swimming in the Abacos. There is no reliable lifeguard, so take normal care, as conditions are typical and never guaranteed.
It is on Great Abaco, reached by road from Marsh Harbour and the nearby regional airport, or by boat into the Treasure Cay marina. Access to the sand runs through the settlement and former resort area on the northeast shore of the island.
The drier, cooler season from December to May brings the calmest, clearest water and the most settled weather. The beach is quiet in any month given its length, so you can almost always find an empty stretch to yourself.
