West coast, past Jolly Harbour
Jolly Beach lies on the southwest coast in St Mary's parish, between Bolans village and the Jolly Harbour marina, about a 30 to 40 minute drive from V C Bird International Airport and a little less from the capital, St John's. Taxis are the simplest way in, hire cars are easy, and there is road access and parking behind the beach near Jolly Harbour.
Come early for the calmest water and the quietest sand, or late for the sunset, and walk toward the northern end if you want to leave the resort bustle behind. Bring your own shade and water for the free stretches, since most loungers belong to the hotels, and keep an eye on children in the water as there is no public lifeguard.
